Generalities:
Classified as Ameba nana, causes symptoms such as nausea, chronic diarrhea, enterocolitis, abdominal pain, headache, weakness; in some cases it presents urticaria. It can remit without treatment.
Endolimax nana can colonize the intestines of humans without causing disease. The parasite presents two stages in its life cycle, either as a cyst or trophozoite. In its cyst form it is when it can spread through contaminated food. It becomes pathogenic basically in immunosuppressed people.
Transmission:
By contaminated food, bad personal hygiene. More common in hot and humid climates.
