Rhinosporidium seeberi
Type: Fungi
Pairs
greater trochanter - greater trochanter
Generalities:
Rhinosporidium seeberi causes chronic micosis. Affects nasal mucosa, pharynx, eyes, parathydoids and ears, to a lesser extent can infect the abdominal wall, genitals, vulva, urethra.
At first, it affects the nasal cavity and from there it can spread to the nasopharynx, ears, neck, and so on. In the nasopharynx can form a mass similar to a cluster of grapes that may require surgery to remove the damaged tissue.
Transmission:
The way of transmission is completely unknown. Presumably by contact with contaminated water, by small lesions on the skin, even by inhalation of spores.
